Erosion Control and Slope Stabilization
Blankets, plantings, check dams, swales and retaining solutions that stop washouts and stabilize slopes around buildings, lots and ponds.
Slopes, banks and drainage channels are where Middle Tennessee’s heavy rain does its damage. Water running down bare or thin soil cuts gullies, carries sediment into storm drains and ponds and undermines pavement, walls and utility lines. For HOAs, schools, businesses and developers, erosion is both a property loss and a compliance issue, because sediment leaving a site can violate stormwater rules. Fixing a small gully is inexpensive, but letting it grow into a collapsed slope is not, so early stabilization is the most economical approach.
We stabilize slopes with a layered approach tailored to the grade and the cause. Where flow is concentrated, we install rock-lined swales, check dams and drain structures. Bare slopes receive grading, soil preparation, seed and an erosion control blanket held with staples, and steeper or high-risk areas may call for matting, live staking, retaining walls or terraces. Native grasses, shrubs and trees are planted for permanent root strength, and temporary sediment barriers protect inlets while vegetation grows. We document the work and coordinate with engineers and local erosion and sediment control requirements where they apply.
Fix the water path
Concentrated flow is redirected to swales and structures that can handle it.
Blankets and seed
Erosion control blankets protect seed and soil while grass takes hold.
Deep roots for the long run
Native grasses, shrubs and trees give the slope permanent strength.
Compliance aware
Sediment control follows local stormwater and erosion requirements.

Our process, start to finish.
- 01
Call and schedule
You tell us about the property and what you need, a new program, a contractor change or a project, and we set a walk that fits your day.
- 02
Walk and measure
We walk the grounds with the manager, owner or a board member, measure turf and beds and note trees, ponds, irrigation, drainage and problem areas.
- 03
Proposal and options
You receive an itemized written proposal with areas, tasks, frequencies, seasonal services and options, ready for a board or owner to review.
- 04
Onboarding
We document starting conditions with photos, map the property, set the schedule and contacts and complete any catch-up work in the first month.
- 05
Service and projects
Crews follow the schedule, projects are phased around your operations and visits are logged so you can see what was done.
- 06
Review and plan ahead
We review results with you each quarter, adjust the scope as needed and plan seasonal work and reserve projects for the year ahead.
Erosion Control FAQ
How steep is too steep for planting alone?
Slopes steeper than about three to one often need blankets, matting or walls in addition to plants.
How quickly will grass establish?
Seed germinates in weeks, but a strong root system takes a full growing season.
Do you handle pond bank erosion?
Yes. We stabilize pond and basin banks with grading, blankets and native plants.
Is erosion control required?
Many projects must follow local erosion and sediment rules, and we can help with compliance details.
Can you repair gullies?
Yes. We fill and compact, redirect the water and replant.
