HOA Pond and Retention Basin Care
Maintenance for neighborhood ponds and stormwater basins: bank mowing, shoreline plants, erosion repair, aeration checks and inlet and outlet cleanup.
Many Nashville neighborhoods include a pond or stormwater basin, and in most communities the association is responsible for it. These basins are more than scenery. They hold and slow runoff after heavy rain, protect downstream properties and often carry maintenance obligations tied to local stormwater programs. When banks erode, outlets clog or algae takes over, the problem can become both a safety concern and an expensive repair. Regular, planned care is far cheaper than fixing a failing bank or a plugged outlet after a storm.
Our pond and basin care covers the land side of the work: mowing banks on a safe schedule, trimming and managing shoreline vegetation, clearing trash and debris from inlets and outlets, repairing small erosion spots before they grow and planting stabilizing native grasses where bare soil appears. We note conditions on each visit and flag anything that needs an engineer, a water-quality specialist or the city, so the board is never surprised. Aeration equipment is checked as part of the visit when your community has it.

Pond and Basin Care FAQ
Is the HOA responsible for the pond?
In many communities it is, but responsibility depends on your plat, covenants and local stormwater rules, so check your documents.
Do you treat algae and water quality?
We handle land-side care. For water quality or algae treatment we coordinate with a specialist.
How often are banks mowed?
Most are mowed on the same schedule as other turf, with a longer cut or no-mow buffer where the plan calls for one.
Can you repair eroded banks?
Yes. Small repairs are part of regular care, and larger stabilization is scoped as a project.
Will you tell us if something needs an engineer?
Yes. We flag structural or drainage concerns so the board can bring in the right expert.
