Pergolas and Shade Structures
Pergolas, pavilions and shade sails for patios, pools, play areas and gathering spaces, built with durable materials and proper footings.
Shade turns a bare patio into a usable room. In Middle Tennessee’s long, hot summers, an unshaded plaza, pool deck or playground can be too uncomfortable to use at midday, which wastes the investment in the space. Structures such as pergolas, pavilions, covered walks and tensioned shade sails reduce heat, define a gathering area and give a property a strong visual identity. For restaurants, hotels, clinics, apartment communities and HOAs, they are often the difference between an amenity that is used and one that is just looked at.
We build shade structures to commercial standards. Footings are sized for wind and soil conditions, framing is steel, aluminum or treated or rot-resistant wood, and finishes are selected for the weather and the architecture. Covers range from open pergola rafters with climbing plants to louvered systems and fabric sails. We coordinate with local code and permitting, since many structures require review and engineered plans, and we include lighting, fans or heaters when requested. Landscaping around the structure ties it into the site so it feels designed, not dropped in.
